Website relaunch

Playtex is a brand that makes underwear and shapewear for confident middle-aged women. It belongs to the successful branded goods company Hanes Germany GmbH. The company sets standards in the manufacture and sale of high-quality textiles.

Projektbeschreibung

The initial situation: There was already a brand website based on Magento – only without an online shop. Only products were entered for viewing.

When the initially independent brand was taken over by Hanes Bodywear Germany GmbH, the website was to be redeveloped on the basis of WordPress. The following requirements existed:

• Programming a modern & flexible theme
• Inclusion of catalogs instead of previous product pages
• Entering your own fields for posts
• Development of the shop finder plugin

Umsetzung

The website should be placed within a collective network installation consisting of other sub-brands of Hanes Germany GmbH – i.e. a WordPress multisite installation. This enables the central administration of the websites of the following brands:

• NUR DIE
• NUR DER
• EDOO
• Playtex
• Wonderbra
• Maidenform

Since the design was only supposed to differ in color, we developed the superordinate “Hanes Inc. Network Parent Theme” as an in-house development. From this, child themes were then created for each website that do justice to the respective corporate identity.

Since the product pages on the previous website cause a lot of data maintenance when there is a change in product range, PDF catalogs should be clearly integrated. With the plugin “Real 3D Flipbook” we succeeded in the digital implementation with dynamic animation.

For the different pages & posts should be created uniform fields that were intended for entering certain data. Custom fields could be easily created and defined using the “Advanced Custom Fields Pro” plugin. These were then integrated in the template across all posttypes via PHP.

Since Nur Die products are offered in numerous stores, the user should get an overview of all corresponding locations on the website. With the “WMDK Hanes Shopfinder” we programmed a WordPress plugin via JavaScript, which displayed them via Google Maps.
