Fit For Fun Verlags GmbH
youfit is the online training program of the Fit for Fun magazine with Patric Heizmann and belongs to the Hubert Burda Media publishing house. The program was also implemented as a mobile app. In the supplementary youfit shop, nutritional supplements such as protein products, fitness articles and books are offered, which are advertised in the training program.
The aim was to optimize the usability of the online training program, including the associated app and the development of the online shop based on Magento.
The shop had the following requirements:
- Connection to the fulfillment and shipping service provider Rhenus Logistics with invoice transfer
- The automatic generation of reports on a weekly and monthly basis with relevant key figures
- Responsive design for a mobile optimized online shop
- Expansion of the range to include relevant fitness items in cooperation with other brands
In addition, we acted in the conception and implementation of a strategy in performance marketing while adhering to a fixed budget.
The Magento shop was based on the Ultimo theme < / a> realized, which offers extensive flexibility in the area of responsive design.
The fulfillment connection
So that shipping-relevant data could be transmitted directly to Rhenus, we installed an interface that could handle all of the fulfillment functions. This was a SOAP interface within Magento, which was provided by the IT service provider EXOR PRO </ a> was made available. Rhenus was able to access all relevant data (e.g. discounts, order status) via a time-controlled connection.
As part of the project, we then made some changes to the workflow:
- Direct creation and transmission of invoices as PDF via data stream to avoid rounding errors
- Correct allocation and transmission of different sales tax rates
The reports on key metrics for profitability planning & analysis was carried out with PHP-Office , back then still “PHP-Excel”. These consisted of two formats with different goals:
- Weekly reports with data on sales
- Monthly reports related to inventory
The PHP Office templates could be adapted directly in Excel and sent as an e-mail attachment.
Our marketing approach
While Fit For Fun took over the marketing in the context of print media via the extensive possibilities of the Burda publishing house, we were responsible for direct performance marketing in the online area. For this we developed designs & concepts for selecting and structuring suitable channels. The target group orientation and evaluation of important KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) also took place in the course of this.
In order to expand the shop range horizontally, partnerships with manufacturers such as MyMuesli found their place. Articles such as smoothie makers were also offered in the shop under the Fit For Fun brand.
